Security Cameras
How are security cameras used across the University?
Public Safety places cameras at campus building entrances, exits, common areas, and major travel routes to help respond to incidents and support investigations. Cameras are not placed in restrooms, locker rooms, changing areas, residence hall rooms, or health and counseling spaces.
Are security cameras used near residential areas?
Cameras near residential spaces use hardware-level privacy masking that restricts their view of designated residential areas, and these privacy settings cannot be changed through the camera software. This is Public Safety’s standard for protecting residential privacy.
Are Flock cameras used on campus ?
No. The University does not have an agreement with Flock Safety and does not use Flock cameras. University Public Safety manages security cameras.
