Learn about the University’s policy for electric scooters and e-bikes on campus.

Overview of guidelines

To support campus safety, electric scooters and electric bikes are prohibited on campus sidewalks and inside university buildings. While these devices may be used to travel to and from campus, they may not be operated on university grounds for the safety of riders and pedestrians. Due to fire risk, lithium-ion batteries may only be stored or charged in locations that are explicitly approved.

Electric scooters and electric-assist bikes are not permitted to operate on University campuses. These vehicles may be used to travel to and from campus, but for the safety of riders and pedestrians, they must not be ridden on campus.

Electric vehicles must be parked at designated dismount zones located along the campus perimeter
