Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) provides safety, compliance and advisory services while managing risks, advocating safe work practices, and providing quality educational programs to ensure compliance with University and regulatory standards.

Business Continuity is responsible for guiding the University in planning for and dealing with any major business interruption and works closely with Emergency Management to provide mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery related to any kind of disaster.

Environmental Compliance is responsible for managing the disposal of all chemical and other regulated waste with the exception of infectious waste. This includes chemical waste pickups, assistance with chemical storage and disposal in compliance with environmental law.

Sanitation focuses on helping the University achieve and maintain a healthful environment with an emphasis on food safety.
Health and safety issues can be directed to the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) office. The particular concern will then be directed to the appropriate unit for resolution. EH&S has developed policies and plans for many of the hazards present at the University. These hazards should not pose a hazard to you. However, EH&S should be contacted to check your work location as a precaution.
If requested, EH&S will assist supervisors in evaluating the hazards involved in a job, determining the appropriate PPE necessary, and/or completing the Hazard Assessment Form. For assistance, contact EH&S.
