Charter bus services
Charter bus services are available for University-related events hosted by University departments, organizations, or event organizers. Charters can be booked for local or long-distance travel. For local travel, round-trip and continuous looping service is available.
Guidelines
Advance notice
Non-coach transportation (including charter buses):
Requests must be submitted at least one week in advance. Requests made with less than one week’s notice will incur a $50 late booking fee.
Coach buses:
Requests require at least 2 months’ notice.
Additional fees
- $10 booking fee
- $50 cancellation fee
- On-site cancellation fees vary by charter company and must be paid by the department or organization canceling the bus
- $100 clean-up fee, if required by the charter company
- Coach bus cancellation fees vary by company
Bus driver availability
A regional bus driver shortage is impacting local charter bus availability. Some event transportation requests arranged through the University may not be fulfilled. To improve your chances of securing a charter bus:
- Book early. Submit requests as far in advance as possible. Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Be flexible with dates. Availability is typically better on weekends than on weekdays.
- Have a backup plan. Availability may change, so have an alternate plan if a charter cannot be accommodated.
