Hospital Garage parking guidelines for employees

Employees may only park in the Hospital garage under specific conditions, which vary by time of day and are restricted during regular business hours.

Parking in the Hospital Garage before 6 p.m.

To help manage parking effectively and ensure availability for patients and visitors, employees should not park in the Strong Memorial Hospital Garage during regular business hours without giving prior notice to the Parking Office.

Employees parking as patients or visitors

If you are visiting the Health Sciences Campus (Med Center) as a patient or visitor and do not have a garage permit:

  • Call the Parking Office at (585) 275-4524 before parking to be placed on the enforcement exemption list to avoid a citation
  • Take an entry ticket when entering the lot or garage
  • Pay upon exit using standard visitor payment methods

Entering the garage

  • Pull an entry ticket from the dispenser
  • Take your ticket with you

Paying for parking

  • Pay with cash, credit, or validation at pay stations on the ground and first floors, or
  • Pay from your vehicle at the garage exit lane using a credit card or validation

Parking in the Hospital Garage after 6 p.m.

Employees with a valid University parking permit may park in the Strong Memorial Hospital Garage during the following times:

When parking is allowed

  • Monday through Friday: 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. (overnight parking)
  • Saturday and Sunday
  • University holidays

Where to park

  • Levels 4, 5, and 6 only

How garage access works

  • Your license plate serves as your parking permit
  • The gate arm will automatically raise when you enter and exit
  • There is no need to pull a ticket
  • If the gate arm does not raise, scan the barcode on your University ID at the entry or exit machine.
